Most of BR hills are taken up by the BR Hills wildlife sanctuary, which is a protected reserve by the government. It has a wide array of species of animals, birds, and insects.The animals spotted in the forest are panthers, tigers, leopards, gaurs, wild pigs, sloth bears, Langur, antelopes, Chital, Sambar deer, and bears.It has around 200 species of birds. Some of them are the Malabar Whistling Thrush, Racquet Tailed Drongo, Paradise Flycatcher, Yellow-throated Bulbul, and the Crested Hawk Eagle.

BR Hills Places To Visit :

  • BR Temple, Soliga and the Jenukurba tribal hamlets, the thousand-year-old Mara (Big Champak Tree)
  • Jungle safaris and Bird watching – There are two timings, one early morning around 6:30 a.m. and the other one is around 2:30 p.m.We will recommend the morning timings as the cool breeze of the morning will be so much refreshing.

(From Coimbatore)
Take either KSRTC or TNSTC to reach Chamarajanagar, buses ply every 20 minutes.P
