The year 2014 proved to be most important milestone in India’s political systems, this year we all voted to bring in much needed decisive change in government , which off late is showing the result in terms of long pending reforms in various sectors

Travel and tourism is the one sector which is showing improvement from various initiatives.  As per data gathered from state and union territories (Source:, number of domestic tourist visits to states/UTs in 2013 stood at 1145.28 million. While data for 2014 wasn’t available, the India report (Travel & Tourism Economic Impact 2014 India) of World Travel and Tourism Council put the domestic travel spendings’ expected growth at 8.2% for 2014.

Below State/UT contributes to largest share for domestic traveller

– Maharashtra : 20.8%

– Tamil Nadu: 20%

– Delhi: 11.5%

– Uttar Pradesh: 10 %
